What is the Difference Between Vegan and Plant Based?

Plant-based nutrition, which has grown in recent years, has been growing day by day, especially with its health benefits. So is a plant-based diet actually vegan? Are there any differences?

In the 1980s, the term vegan "Abused and persecuted animals for food, clothing or any other purpose, as far as possible and practicable; and, in addition, a philosophy and lifestyle that aims to reject the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment.

Plant-based nutrition is a term that emerged at the end of the research that shows the therapeutic effect of a low-fat, high-fiber, vegetable-based diet.

The difference between the term vegan and a plant-based diet is basically as follows: veganism is about avoiding animal products. So there is no obligation to refer to healthy foods like the term plant-based nutrition.

Vegan and plant-based movements started with the questioning of the ethics of eating meat in the 80's. Although the term vegan is in contention with the term plant-based, the term plant-based nutrition supports vegan.
